Vine Brings Six Seconds of Video to Tweeters

vine app review

A Vine video is six seconds, usually with a bit of start and stop action woven together.

Vine is both an app and a service. It lets users create six second video clips and then easily share them with other Vine users or post them up for Twitter-based broadcasting. You can find videos using the familiar #something hashtag system. As a social media service, I doubt that I’ll find myself constantly creating, posting, and finding Vine videos — unless I’m out and about and have the chance to share something worthwhile that can benefit from a 6-second clip or 6-second stop motion video.

I've been writing about the tech industry since the birth of the email newsletter, and I still remember the clacking Mac keyboards from high school -- Apple's seed-planting strategy at work. I'm a big fan of elegant gear and great tech, but there's something to be said for turning it all off -- or most of it -- to go outside. Online I like to call out cool stuff on Wicked Cool Bite and blog with my buddies at Man Makes Fire. To catch me, take a "firstnamelastname" guess at the url of this site.
