Apple’s Sneak Attack on Gaming Is Now in Play

iOS games totally dominate the Apple App Store. For better or worse, iOS is a mobile gaming juggernaut. Despite the touchscreen-only controls. But it’s going to get better, and more importantly, it’s going to seriously compete for mindshare (and playshare) against traditional living room consoles like the Xbox 360 and upcoming Xbox One and Sony’s console counterparts, the PS3 and upcoming PS4.

With AirPlay to HDTVs and physical game controllers on the way — not to mention bigger 64-bit A7 chip brains — Apple’s going to become an even bigger playground for millions of next-generation “gamers.”

I've been writing about the tech industry since the birth of the email newsletter, and I still remember the clacking Mac keyboards from high school -- Apple's seed-planting strategy at work. I'm a big fan of elegant gear and sublime tech, but there's something to be said for turning it all off -- or most of it -- to go outside. Online I like to call out cool stuff on Wicked Cool Bite, share Apple-focused opinions on TechNewsWorld, and blog with my buddies at Man Makes Fire.
