I pretty much never do this — call out a particular deal — but this one is just too good to pass up:
B&H is offering a stacked 15.4-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display mid-2014 model for the lowest price I’ve ever seen: $1,599. That’s $700 off of B&H’s usual price (and $900 off the original Apple price).
Better yet, this model comes with 512GB of flash storage, along with 16GB of memory. It has a 2.5 GHz Intel Core i7 processor and NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M Graphics (2GB).
So what about the most equivalent mid-2015 MacBook Pro model for comparison? That will set you back $2,249 at B&H (a $650 price difference). [Of course, B&H is also running specials across most of its MacBook Pro line — check out the 13-inch MacBook Pro options here and consider the 15-inch MacBook Pro options here.]
For that $650 price premium for the mid-2015 model, you’ll gain a Force Touch trackpad (a minor new feature), very slightly faster performance, and the ability to power a 5K monitor (instead of a 4K monitor), which, frankly, most people will never need or want to do.
So is the mid-2014 model a good deal?
Yes.
Like I said, it’s the best I’ve ever seen on a new 15.4-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display, particularly one that has 512GB of storage.
Act fast before the deal expires — and before B&H runs out of stock.
