There’s a handy new app called BizVizz that seeks to share information about the big businesses that you, as a consumer, often do business with yourself. BizVizz covers 300 corporations that represent more than 900 brands, and what it does is let you take a snapshot of a brand — say, GE or Pepsi — and then learn more about who’s behind it, as well as the company’s federal tax rates and political campaign contributions. The basic idea is that if you know more about the brands, maybe you’ll choose to spend your dollars in ways that more properly align with your own moral codes. BizVizz is a fantastic idea, with a solid interface and foundation, with — as I see it — a lot of potential for future insight and context. To learn more, check out my full BizVizz review.
