Dialogue App Is So Close to a Great Conversation with People to iPhone to Mac — and Back

Dialogue is a new app in the Apple Mac OS X Store. For $6.99, Dialogue lets you route calls from your iPhone (or smartphone) to your Mac via Bluetooth. Setup and connectivity, along with lean and mean interface, is great. The only trouble comes in when there’s an echo with you and your caller. A headset might reduce the echo, but in my testing, I still had trouble finding a combination of headset and settings that would give me clear calls.

But there’s another killer feature: Dialogue lets you record calls. If you’re a journalist, this is a fantastic feature. If you work collaboratively with groups where feedback, direction, and tasks start flying around a conference call faster than you can take notes, again, the record feature is amazing.

BTW, the recordings are crystal clear. Amazing quality. No echo. It’s the talking through the echo when you’re live that’s the hard part. For more detail, check out the full review at MacNewsWorld.

I've been writing about the tech industry since the birth of the email newsletter, and I still remember the clacking Mac keyboards from high school -- Apple's seed-planting strategy at work. I'm a big fan of elegant gear and great tech, but there's something to be said for turning it all off -- or most of it -- to go outside. Online I like to call out cool stuff on Wicked Cool Bite and blog with my buddies at Man Makes Fire. To catch me, take a "firstnamelastname" guess at the url of this site.
