Please Don’t Let the iPhone 5C Come in Neon Puke

The release of the next-generation iPhone is coming soon, but a slew of rumors seem to show a new budget-friendly iPhone with a softly rounded polycarbonate case in a basic iPhone 5 form factor might be on the way. Gone are the bright and rich colors that typify Apple’s design sensibility — at least according to the supply chain rumor photos. I’m hoping the colors are from a bad batch of cases thrown out to the curb . . . or that Tim Cook is doubling down on secrecy with a supply-chain test.

I've been writing about the tech industry since the birth of the email newsletter, and I still remember the clacking Mac keyboards from high school -- Apple's seed-planting strategy at work. I'm a big fan of elegant gear and great tech, but there's something to be said for turning it all off -- or most of it -- to go outside. Online I like to call out cool stuff on Wicked Cool Bite and blog with my buddies at Man Makes Fire. To catch me, take a "firstnamelastname" guess at the url of this site.
